چکیده

In Urban Planning (UP), it is necessary to take under serious consideration the inhibitors of spread a settlement in specific direction. This means that all those parameters for which problems may arise future should be considered. Among these are geo-hazards, such as floods, landslides, mud movement, etc. study deals with UP taking into account possibility widespread flooding expansion areas. There large history Greece, accompanied by significant number disasters different types land use/land cover, financial cost compensation and/or rehabilitation. The area drainage basin Erasinos River Attica Region, where many and frequent flood events have been recorded. main goal this determine susceptibility area, possible factors decisive occurrence. Furthermore, also determined, scenarios precipitation urban sprawl scenario reference. uses Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model SLEUTH, calibrates historical growth, using open cost-free data software. Eventually, maps were overlaid areas find vulnerable Following, three corresponding vulnerability maps, measure current space presented. results shown peaks moderate class susceptibility, while, third scenario, high values seem appear. proposed methodology specifically output can serve decision support tool assist planners hazard managers making informed decisions towards sustainable planning.

developing a cellular automata model for urban growth

in the last decade, cellular automata models have been widely used for simulation spatial phenomena; however, exact nature of these models have been lead to various limitations for essential simulation of these phenomena. in this research, traditional cellular automata models have been developed through fuzzy theory, in which, transition rules are expressed based on fuzzy logic control methodol...

Modeling urban dynamics through GIS-based cellular automata

In urban systems modeling, there are many elaborate dynamic models based on intricate decision processes whose simulation must be based on customized software if their space±time properties are to be explored e€ectively. In this paper we present a class of urban models whose dynamics are based on theories of development associated with cellular automata (CA), whose data is ®ne-grained, and whos...

Sensitivity Analysis of a Gis-based Cellular Automata Model

Urban growth is dynamic and complex spatial process that has severe environmental and social impacts. High population growth results in the transformations of forested areas or high quality agricultural lands into urban land-use. The study and modeling of the urban growth and land-use change processes are complex due to the difficulties to represent the interactions between the physical and hum...

A web GIS based integrated flood assessment modeling tool for coastal urban watersheds

Urban flooding has become an increasingly important issue in many parts of the world. In this study, an integrated flood assessment model (IFAM) is presented for the coastal urban flood simulation. A web based GIS framework has been adopted to organize the spatial datasets for the study area considered and to run the model within this framework. The integrated flood model consists of a mass bal...

Modeling Urban Growth Dynamics using Cellular Automata and GIS

Managing and modelling urban growth is a multi-faceted problem. Cities are now recognised as complex systems through which non-linear and dynamic processes, emergence and self-organisation occur. The design of a system that can handle these complexities is a challenging prospect. This paper presents an urban planning tool for the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At the core of the system is a Fuzz...
